Senior housing is all about family. With roots deep in an ongoing legacy of care and commitment, Sunwest Management was formally founded in 1991. But the story begins even before that. Jon Harder, President, and Darryl Fisher, Chief Operating Officer, have both followed in a strong family tradition of senior housing and care. While each took his own distinctive path to their current positions, leading a company managing over 250 communities nationwide, Mr. Harder and Mr. Fisher both share a personal commitment to putting people first, and recognizing that it takes people of quality to provide a service of substance.
"I've always enjoyed people," Jon Harder explains. "As a young person, I was given the opportunity to work with seniors and found the experience to be overwhelmingly positive. There is great satisfaction in the person-to-person interaction that takes place in our world. I enjoy not only the contact available in the construction or acquisition of a project, but the ongoing benefits of providing positive and healthy homes for our residents."
Continuing a family tradition of service, Darryl Fisher knows that at the heart of achievement is simplicity. "It's important to remember that we are in the 'people business.' My experience has taught me that successful companies and individuals are those that are able to keep things simple. By remaining focused on the fact that we are serving people every day, we are able to make every decision count for the betterment of the community," says the third generation senior living provider.
